Brookline Road-Rage Gun Incident Sparks Police Pursuit to Jamaicaway

A road-rage dispute that allegedly involved a gun broke out near the Hellenic College campus on Goddard Avenue around 6:50 p.m. Friday, police said. The driver continued along Perkins Street by Jamaica Pond and onto the Jamaicaway, where Brookline, Boston and MBTA Transit police officers converged and stopped him. State law allows neighboring departments to enter mutual aid agreements that extend police and pursuit authority across town lines, which is how the three agencies were able to act jointly.
