Green Line C-Branch accessibility upgrades progress ahead of Aug. 8 service diversion

The MBTA will suspend C-branch trolley service between Saturday, Aug. 8 and Sunday, Aug. 16, with shuttle buses replacing trolleys on Beacon Street while crews work around the clock on 12-hour shifts. It is the second of three planned week-long shutdowns for the Green Line C-branch station accessibility project, which is targeting completion in spring 2027. The town says new platforms at Englewood and Tappan opened in July and adjacent median angle parking has been restored; guardrail fencing, lighting, signs, shelters and tree planting are still to come. Drivers and bicyclists are asked to use caution along the Beacon Street work zone.
