Coastal flood warning issued for Beverly through Sunday
The National Weather Service has a coastal flood warning in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday, with up to one foot of inundation possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Strong northeast winds and large waves are expected to bring minor coastal flooding, with pockets of moderate flooding, over multiple high tide cycles from late today through the weekend, and water may be slow to drain after high tides. A high surf advisory is also in effect through Sunday evening, with breaking waves of 6 to 13 feet in the surf zone.
