Belmont Teacher Arraigned on Child Sex Abuse Material Charges

Belmont Middle School technology teacher Leon Dyer, 45, pleaded not guilty Monday in Cambridge District Court to two counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, with charges stemming from searches in January and July. Prosecutors say Dyer initially told police his devices had been hacked but later admitted to downloading the images, insisting he never photographed children in his care. He was released on $7,500 bail and ordered to stay away from all Belmont public schools and a boys' summer camp while the case proceeds.
