Green Line shuts down Aug. 8-16 for tunnel work

Starting today, the MBTA is suspending Green Line service between Government Center and Babcock Street on the B branch, Government Center and Cleveland Circle on the C branch, North Station and Kenmore on the D branch, and North Station and Heath Street on the E branch for nine straight days, through Aug. 16. Crews will replace the century-old signal system in the central Green Line tunnel and carry out the C Branch Accessibility Improvements Project. Free shuttle buses will cover the closed segments, and Routes 57 and 39 will run fare-free.
