16th Annual African Festival of Boston returns to Boston Common

The 16th Annual African Festival of Boston runs today from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Boston Common at 139 Tremont Street, with doors at 8:30 a.m. The free, 11-plus-hour program includes live performances, drumming, traditional dance, a fashion show, authentic African cuisine and a marketplace. Billed under the theme "Together We Rise," the lineup features DJ Prince, DJ/MC Goddess Merlins, Godson C.E. and KHENSANI; parking is paid.
