Charles River Jazz Festival Returns to Hatch Shell Today

The 6th annual Charles River Jazz Festival takes place Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Esplanade, 47 David G Mugar Way, with the park opening at 11:30 a.m. and music from noon to 8:30 p.m. The free festival is moving to the Hatch Shell this year, and organizers recommend the MBTA, ride share, biking or walking to get there. Blankets no larger than 6-by-8 feet, chairs under 34 inches, soft-sided coolers and bags 20x20x10 inches or smaller are permitted; audio recording and professional detachable lenses are not.
