Virtual sewage-control public hearing set for 1 p.m.

Residents can testify online from 1 to 3 p.m. today at a virtual public hearing on a draft plan to control combined sewer overflows into Alewife Brook and the Mystic River. The hearing is hosted by the Combined Sewer Overflow Long Term Control Plan project teams at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority and the cities of Cambridge and Somerville, and it follows an in-person hearing on Sept. 17. The Mystic River Watershed Association is urging residents to testify for the elimination of sewage pollution. Advance registration is required, and written comments can be submitted at mysticriver.org/csos.
