Select Board approves $1M bond for lead pipe replacements
The Select Board voted 4-0 on Aug. 10 to authorize the town treasurer/collector to issue a $1 million bond, letting Arlington tap an interest-free loan from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority to replace lead water service lines. Treasurer/collector Lynn Gallagher told the board the borrowing was originally authorized by Town Meeting under Article 54 on April 25, 2025. The bond is set to be issued Aug. 27, 2026 and repaid in 10 annual installments of $100,000 beginning Aug. 27, 2027.
