Longtime resident and MIT professor Bob McKersie dies at 96
Robert B. McKersie, an industrial relations scholar, educator, and frequent local contributor, died July 11 at his home at age 96 from congestive heart failure, surrounded by his four children. A proud Eagle Scout who earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he became one of the most influential voices in labor relations. A memorial service is planned for August 4 at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church.
