CSO advisory issued for Alewife-area waters

Arlington's Health Department is warning residents and their pets to avoid contact with waters upstream of the Little River and Alewife Brook confluence after a Cambridge combined sewer overflow was reported Monday, July 6. The discharge, identified as CAM401A, occurs upstream of the Route 2 Bridge and may carry increased bacteria and pollutants from urban stormwater runoff. Officials strongly advise against swimming or standing in the affected water.
