Andover Raises West Nile Virus Risk to Moderate
The Andover Health Division said Aug. 14 that a mosquito sample collected in town tested positive for West Nile Virus, raising Andover's risk level to moderate. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor activity from dusk to dawn, and to wear long sleeves, long pants, shoes and socks when outside during those hours. The division also recommends an EPA-registered repellent containing DEET or another recommended active ingredient; more information is at mass.gov/dph/mosquito.
