Man Killed by Train at Andover's Essex Street Crossing
A man was struck and killed by a train shortly before 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Essex Street railroad crossing near Andover Station on the MBTA's Haverhill Line. Transit Police said he entered the right-of-way as a train approached; his identity had not been released as of Friday evening and the investigation continues. Andover police, firefighters and EMS responded alongside Transit Police, with North Andover providing mutual aid, at a crossing town officials have been working to make safer.
