Weekend Notebook: Hotel Guests Removed, Hit-and-Run Probe, Dorm Fire
Public safety radio traffic from Aug. 7-9 included a hit-and-run on North Main Street that pushed a parked gray Toyota 4Runner about 10 feet and left it heavily damaged, a small dorm fire at Merrimack College, and more than 20 guests removed from an Andover hotel room. Officers also gave a stranded hitchhiker a ride from High Street to Tewksbury after his vehicle broke down, and checked on an elderly Railroad Street resident who had missed a Meals on Wheels delivery; she was found safe. The items are compiled from radio transmissions and are preliminary, so they may not reflect the outcome of later investigations.
