Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday Starts Today

Massachusetts' 2026 sales tax holiday runs Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9, exempting qualifying retail items bought for personal use, including purchases at Andover retailers. The exemption applies to single items priced up to $2,500 and covers online orders placed and paid for during the weekend, even if delivery comes later. Meals, motor vehicles, alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, telecommunications services and utilities remain taxable, as do purchases by businesses or for business use.
